#4 of 7

It is becoming very apparent just how important social media is when it comes to selling artwork. For those who belong to Twitter, Facebook, and Flicker, creations are all a buzz everywhere. Social media has become a real life line to artist everywhere. This may seem challenging for those of us who haven't tried this let, but it is really quite fun when you set aside a hour a day to do this.

#3 of 7 Linking with Google

We are continuing our look at the '7 Ways to Improve Your Google Rankings' written by Jim Lodico, copywriter and marketing consultant.  As it is now we don't have the back links active on our site for a number of reasons. We have talked this issue over and over with our staff and we are leaning to placing that capability on each gallery. We would love to hear from you on your feelings on that. Please read on to hear what Jim Lodico has to say on this.

If this doesn't get you on your toes

As if selling art online isn't hard enough....right?  This is a really good read.  It reinforces what I have been posting time and time again, Blog, blog blog....share, share and share. Important to note. Each of your galleries are their own sites that are being networked under one big site. If you are not writing and keeping up with fresh content you will not get the best exposure that you would be otherwise. I would like to encourage you in this area of marketing your artwork.

How did you do that?

Abadjeo sold for a very nice price. But it didn't happen over night.  Many art sellers who are new to online commerce get very impatient when they haven't sold anything within their 30 day trial period. Selling art online takes a long time to build your, I guess I can call it, network base. Painter's Showcase (or any other site) is merely the vehicle that provides the powerful tool so the out side will find you.  It is your responsibility to get all of your linkage out there which is accomplished through your blog post here and comments on other blogs.

While networking on FB, one of my friends shared a very important link to a FREE newsletter.  It was written by  artist  Dan Turner on how to sell your art.  Titled: Dan Turner's 7 Keys to Selling Art online.  It's well written, and takes the mystery out of marketing your art online. If you have trouble downloading it let me know, I can send it to you via email.  Feel free to comment on this post....really....I encourage it.

Good news Painter's Showcase members

MY good news is YOUR good news. For those of you who have already heard this on Facebook, I apologize for the repeat.  But a few days ago I got an email from a company called RAW Artists. They told me that they were scouting for artists in the Sacramento area and would like me to be featured in one of their monthly shows, and that my work would be perfect.  hmmmm....
