FROM THEN TILL NOW

Scene 1.  Voll's bakery in Brooklyn, 1943.  Life began here.

Then it moved and moved and moved...and so it goes with my art..it is constantly investigating the next exciting destination.

My mother decorated wedding cakes.  Apart from that, childhood was practically ARTless.  Bakery people have no real life...they bake bread all night to sell it to people all day.

Scene 2.  It's 1968

Took two jobs, saved money, sold car, left for Europe.  Didn't want to return till I learned French.  Met husband to be.  Moved...London then to Greece and back to 14 different places in London.  Finally got married to 'husband-to-be'...1985 before departing for total isolation in rural France in 1992

I loved the city with its access to all things culturally diverse.  Jump on the bus...arrive at the theatre...hop on the tube...and you're at the museum.  No one thought I'd survive in the country...but I had a plan. Perhaps if I found something I could take with me WHEREVER I went...now that's a good idea...so I put together what I thought was my own 'foundation' course...in more sense of the words that one. I began my yoga study…then, at last, we get to the Art Part.  Tried millinery, framing and clay. Got rid of millinery and framing...added more clay...pottery type clay and sculpture type clay.  Bought a kiln and moved to....

Scene 3.  The middle of nowhere...France

A goal...I'm learning to speak French but I'm a slow learner....plus no one showed m how to work this kiln and NONE of these glazes are coming out as expected.

Subtract pottery type clay...add sculpture type clay.

I am a happy hibernator...I LOVE the isolation I LOVE the five course meals...especially the cheese board.  I LOVE the unending character of the stone buildings  I LOVE the total beauty of this countryside...I LOVE the fact that I can BLAST the valley with my opera and disturb NO ONE.  I LOVE THE RAIN...but my husband doesn't.

Scene 4.  In search of the sun

Everyone said "Oh, you'll LOVE Scottsdale Arizona"…  but we didn't.  We Hated it.  For the first three years we hated it...But then we got happy...he had his sun and I had my ART....welding and painting...Won several awards…. 'Most promising Artist"   then "Best and Brightest" at Scottsdale Artist School...Had two solo exhibitions...and then moved...

Scene 4.  to Spain!!!

It's been a long journey...I showed at Gallery Colores del Girasol near Marbella, I teach private classes in Painting, Mixed Media. I also teach Yoga. My work has been collected in Europe and America...
